Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad Airways offers global Covid-19 insurance cover to passengers

Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways has introduced the Covid-19 global wellness insurance cover, it announced on September 7.

Passengers will be covered for up to EUR150,000 of medical costs and up to EUR100 a day of quarantine costs in case of a positive diagnosis for 14 days.

Part of Etihad Wellness, the airline’s new health and hygiene programme, the insurance cover will span across all guests who are diagnosed with the coronavirus infection during their trip.

All Etihad tickets, regardless of the date on which they have been booked, will include the Covid-19 insurance for those traveling until December 31,

Air Canada offers COVID-19 insurance for sun destinations at no extra cost

Air Canada, struggling like airlines around the world as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hit finances hard, has announced that it will offer Canadian travellers COVID-19-based medical insurance at no extra cost.

The move, TVA Nouvelles reports, will apply to southern destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean, in a partnership struck between the Canadian carrier and Allianz Global Assistance, the German insurance firm. Brokerage firm TW Insurance Services is also involved in the new offering.

PARIS (Reuters) – French business confidence rebounded in August to its highest since France went into a coronavirus lockdown despite a resurgence of new infections, a survey showed on Thursday.

INSEE, the official statistics agency, said its monthly business sentiment index rose to 91 from 84, reaching its highest since March, when midway through the month the government put France under one of the strictest lockdowns in Europe.

Business confidence has rebounded since the government began lifting the lockdown on May 11 as companies struggled to respond to pent-up demand from clients.
