So, to be completely honest, this looks way different than it did yesterday. I started out by just wrapping the white spider fabric around the wreath and then making a little web out of yarn. It just wasn’t very cute to be honest so this is what I came up with. But in the end I finally like it.
Here I have a bunch of fabric scraps and a wreath made of foam I got from Home Depot for about $1. To get it round rather than oval, I used this tutorial. Next, I started cutting strips of fabric.
I tied the strips around in various places depending on color, making sure to double knot each piece so it stays in place.
Next I wanted something to hang down in the middle and finally pulled out some things that I had in the closet. The piece of wood comes from a flag set I bought from Pick Your Plum this summer. (I’ll have to have Cowboy cut out something to replace it later). The ‘Wicked’ is a piece of vinyl I got from the clearance section at a local store.
I simply painted the wood and then added the vinyl.
For the bow, I took some ribbon with wire and folded it back and forth, leaving a little bit for the tails.
With a bread tie, I secured it in the middle. After glueing it onto the wreath, simply fluff it out how you want (check out the pictures below to see it done).
For the finishing touches, I pulled out a $1 bag of spider rings I got from Walmart and then a larger spider that I got after Halloween was over last year. I cut off the backs of the ring and hot glued them to the ‘Wicked’ sign and then added some more glue to the back of the larger spider and attached it.
Kind of funny for a girl who’s so freaked out of spiders……
And there you go!
