I cut the pieces of the same type the same size but varied the sizes between the three, i.e. all the red hearts were the same but were a different size than all the white ones.
Make sure right sides are together and then pin in between the two pieces with the loop going towards the middle. I like to have the edges poke out a little bit to make sure all the pieces were sewn in.
Top stitch all the way around, making sure to secure the hole. Because fleece is a little bit thicker, I like to use the stitch above just to make sure that I get everything in place and so my machine doesn’t get stuck.
